Dr. Tony Pham

Dr. Tony Pham is an American Board of Ophthalmology certified ophthalmologist. He was selected by the San Diego Union-Tribune as the best LASIK surgeon of 2010 out of 10 competing laser eye centers. He has also been awarded the Patient's Choice award and is recognized as a "Top Surgeon."

Dr.  Pham graduated Summa Cum Laude and as a Regents Scholar from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in biochemistry and dual minors in American History and Health Care Management. He received the highest GPA award for his major along with Provost Honors. Dr. Pham continued his education at the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.

He maintained the position of Western Regional Chair for the American Association of Medical Colleges during his years as a medical student advocating for adequate healthcare for the underserved. As a medical student, Dr. Pham also presented NIH sponsored research on retinal disease. Dr. Pham subsequently completed a surgery internship at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco Medical Center.

Pursuing a specialty in ophthalmology, Dr. Pham completed his residency and chief residency at the world-renowned Shiley Eye Center at the University of California, San Diego.  He published research on the treatment of retinal disease and also the corneal characteristics of astigmatism. One of Dr. Pham's many honors achieved was to be elected chief resident. He also received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year award for his dedication to instructing medical students and residents.

Dr. Pham was the lead LASIK and cataract surgeon at the Lincoln Eye and Laser Institute before returning to his native city of San Diego. He performed one of the first implantable contact lenses in Lincoln.  He helped to establish the eye center as one of the finest centers in Nebraska. He presented multiple lectures and helped to train many local doctors during this time. Dr. Pham is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Pham selected ophthalmology as a profession because he believes vision is our most important sense and enjoys the gratification of the medical and surgical treatment of ocular diseases. He believes that vision is essential in functioning and enjoying the world in which we live. Dr. Pham has a special interest in cataract and refractive surgery, as well as comprehensive ophthalmology.  Laser vision correction is Dr. Pham's passion and he has devoted his life to helping people see better. His practice is open to new patients.
